- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14956360, 6 months agoA good live tab search add-on, but as others have written, the shortcut key is not working and cannot be changed. Also there is no black theme. The window is too short. I wish it was a sidebar extension. An "x" sign on the left of each title would be nice (pressing closes).

posted 5 months agoThe shortcut key works for me on macOS (using Ctrl-Shift-T), but I don't have ready access to Windows and Linux boxes. As for the window, this was a limitation of a popup panel when the latest API was released; maybe I can find a workaround now. - Rated 4 out of 5by RedDwarf, 3 years agoI have been using this since v1.0.5.1 with older browsers using the non web extension type extensions and I much preferred the way that worked with a separate window. That is no longer possible with the current extensions :( I am now using Waterfox Classic 2021.10. However every version after v3.1.2 stops showing any search tabs with the last search entry when the Tab search button is clicked. When the button is clicked, the previous search term is there but no tabs are shown. The only way to get it to show any tabs is to laboriously click the More button, scroll down the window to the bottom and click one of the Sort by radio buttons. It will then show tabs in the window. Up to and including 3.1.2 everything works okay but anything from 3.2.0 onwards makes this extension unusable for me. BTW the Audio only check box is unticked in all these cases.
I will stick to 3.1.2 unless this is fixed in later releases. BTW I need older extensions for my fully Sandboxed browser usage which is why I use Waterfox Classic.

posted 3 years agoUnfortunately it's still just me on the project, and I only have time to support the latest versions of Firefox and Chrome. I agree that the separate window was a good feature, but unfortunately the old API was too vulnerable to abuse. - Rated 4 out of 5by hadevierfufzigzehn, 5 years ago

For example when I open the window, the search field is not focused by default, so I have to click it manually.
Another thing - if there is already text from previous search, clicking on the text field should select it, so it can be deleted when you start typing.
Also a shortcut for opening the window would be nice.
Thanks for the reply. I'm typing my reply here because I don't see any other way.
I have 2.0.4 and I can change the shortcut, but it is not working whatever I change it to.
The focus on search field on opening is really not working for me. On two different computers with the newest FF and one with a little bit older FF.Developer response
posted 7 years agoYour first request should be covered in 2.0.3. The shortcut for opening is currently hardwired to ctrl-shift-T on osx, alt-shift-T elsewhere, but this can be overwritten by another extension. I've submitted a patch to firefox to allow users to change launch shortcuts, but it hasn't been accepted yet. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13534678, 7 years agoThis has saved my life since new FF57 has killed my Tabs Mixed Plus.
Only one suggestion and I'm sure a VERY simple fix. If you can put an X at the end of the pattern and URL fields to delete the text that is already in there and set the cursor ready for typing. I don't like having to select and delete the current text so I can just type the new pattern in there without having to select myself.Developer response
posted 7 years agoWelcome from Tabs Mixed Plus. As you're probably aware, almost all of us add-on writers have had to either do a near-total rewrite to comply with the new FF57 API, or abandon our projects. I've gradually been reinstating the old behavior from earlier versions of Tabhunter, and having the existing pattern selected like you suggested is in the backlog.
And.... you're absolutely right -- it was a matter of adding a short line of code. It's in version 2.0.3 right now.
