- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13595244, 7 years agoIt is not as good as the previous version for FF56 and below. For example, it does not allow me to download streamed video from a news site called ctvnews.ca which use to under previous version on FF56 and below. Can you check and see why it does not for ctvnews.ca? Thanks.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Dwan, 7 years agoI rolled back to version V7.0 and I plan on staying there for a while. I never want to demean anyone's hard work but V7.1 is just not user friendly even after you install the companion app. A bunch of downloads over these last few days failed to install for me.
But I'm optimistic future improvements will be made. I know it hasn't been easy adjusting to Webextensions in Mozilla Firefox Quantum - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13588816, 7 years ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by ahmadfares, 7 years agoVideo DownloadHelper suddenly doesn't work. it appeared : "moz-extension://50b067cf-13e6-4e77-8ee4-b5d16a5088e3/content/alert.html?panel=dialog3". I already use 52.5 version.

- Rated 3 out of 5by cw3theophilus, 7 years agoCurrently the extension only saves a 1kb placeholder instead of the downloaded video, it still seems like it is downloading the video but the file saved is only 1kb size. I do have the companion app installed. It could be simply a bug that they need to fix, but the extension is useless to me if it can't save the videos I am trying to download. Please fix. The extension used to work great in the previous version before web extensions update. I am using Firefox Developer Edition on a Windows 10 32bit PC.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13187081, 7 years agoThis was my experience a few hours ago: I am giving this 2 stars because it used to be a great app. However since FF57 there have been nothing but problems. This morning I was told to load the latest Companion App (version 1.0.8) which I did, and now nothing works. It either flashes the Save-As screen and disappears, or it brings up the top part of the Download the Companion App screen again but does not display the rest of it and goes no further.
Since then, I have deleted VDH and its Companion App, rebooted my machine (Windows 64bit) and re-installed both. Even though the version numbers and file sizes are the same as before, now it is working about 60% of the time. I often have to try it several times, and use the options that appear to the right of the simple download. So perhaps back up to 3 stars.
