- Rated 4 out of 5by pnhan, a year agoIt's worked, at least for Youtube and many sites.
But took a lot of memory, especially for some site that generates a lot of mini audio files (like as Duolingo) over usage time.
4 GB memory just for this addons, forced me to temporary disabled it.
It'll be better if garbage collection and automatic RAM release at fixed/set times are integrated into the addon. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15672809, a year ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by wertfgyuhiol, a year agoLittle trouble getting the companion app to work. Other than that happy with the app, easy to use and downloads most videos which is great because my internet is usually sketchhy. Note: if your download fails delete the incomplete file reload the page and start download again helps.

Works great, except for accepting prepaid credit cards to buy a subscription. Since my prepaid credit card was not accepted I am still living with the barcodes in the corner.
I'll check periodically just in case they will take my cc ( 4 stars as unable to get rid of barcodes ) - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18372573, a year ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18370821, a year agoIt does what it claims, but more is expected from the big boy on the block. How about adding the ability to resume downloads following a connection loss?

- Rated 4 out of 5by WRJA, a year agoWorks well on a lot of sites that aren't super popular but don't have free download buttons. Doesn't work on either x-videos or pornhub sadly, hence 4 stars.

My one complaint to the developer is a minor one, I have multiple disks in my system, some SSDs some old style hard drives (spinning disks)... I would prefer if all intermediate files during download were stored in the same destination folder (or at least in a temporary folder on the same disk or volume as the destination folder) instead of the system temporary folder. Minor complaint though and the extension works great under Firefox, works better under Firefox than on Chrome... especially on certain video streaming sites where the Firefox version works but no Chrome video downloaders I have used seem to work.
The Firefox version (this version) works the best out of all video downloader extensions I have tried so far... a close second to YoutubeDL back when it was available in my region and only because YoutubeDL could be set up to run on a small, light machine all night and throttled down to save bandwidth while my laptop (where this runs) can be used normally. Still, for a browser extension to quickly save a video I want to access when I go offline or in between WiFi locations, this is the best I have used so far. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 17840315, a year agoInstallation is a little bit complicated under Lin ux Mint but it works !

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15244514, a year agoI have used Video DownloadHelper now for months. And I have found generally reliable, versatile and easy to use. There are some websites that have found ways to block VDH, but generally, many websites are open. I would strongly recommend this Add-On. Thank you for making it free!
