- Rated 4 out of 5by Scott Merrill, 7 years agoAfter using many other video download add-ons, I think I enjoy this one's the best for it's sheer simplicity. A couple of minor tweaks would make this an app I would gladly pay for:
1) sometimes the downloads get "stuck". There is an option to reload the extension, which does fix the problem. It also deletes the existing download. Would be nice to have the existing download just "pick up", similar to how Firefox automatically restores your crashed pages.
2) the user interface can seem complicated for a non-geek, I would imagine. Perhaps simplify it a bit (maybe allow people to choose "advanced options" if they want, but keep the basics...basic.
3) a "sort-by" option would be a God-send. When downloading 50 files at a time, I would love to be able to sort by percentage completed, or total file size, or whatever. This is my most-desired request.
I probably can come up with about a dozen other useful tweaks I think that would make this the most amazing downloader ever, if you want to hear them.
All in all, I'd rate this a 4 out of 5, based on the issues above. If those were fixed and/or added, I would give this 5 stars ALL day long - good job on a great free add-on! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13444753, 7 years agoHonestly, haven't had many problems with this add-on since the beginning. Quite easy to figure out and use, most of the videos I downloaded are A-OK.
Though one thing I'd like fixed is is the error message when I cancel a download. - Rated 4 out of 5by 사휴라, 7 years ago

Thank You... - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13795812, 7 years agoHi,
I use Download Helper basically as I would use a DVR. It allows me to keep information (videos) when I see that a series or particular single capsule for future references.
I do not use it to copy copyrighted content to use for commercial profit.
The world wide web is a treasure chest of information, but original contents disappear after a while and that is why I archive them for later consultation.
Keep up the good work !
PS: I was about to make another donation, but since you do not have access to PayPal anymore, I am not able to do so. I do not use credit card anymore and using PayPal bank for all my electronic purchases. Can I suggest using Patreon (I already use it to encourage creators) or another mainstream payment method until Stripe get "more user friendly" ? - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12891368, 7 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13411274, 7 years agoI have tried many different video download addons and this is the one that I come back to over and over again. Yes, it sometimes takes a long time to aggregate but it almost always is able to do the job! With the changes that some of the browsers have recently adapted, there has been a learning curve. The programers at Video DownloadHelper have been pretty with it in making the changes to accomodate!

- Rated 4 out of 5by FatBob, 7 years agoVery useful for grabbing a copy of audio and video files from various websites. Works well most of the time or at least it used to, it has more difficulty now with videos that it shows as "DASH stream" and some other odd formats that seem to be getting more common. I think it is some kind of optimisation that breaks the file into pieces so they all have to be downloaded and reassembled which takes time and processing power. Maybe not the fault of this add-on though.
Always works much better in Firefox than in Chrome. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13785365, 7 years agoBeen using this addon for years and very happy with it!
