- Rated 2 out of 5by Kenneth, 7 years agoBad, terrible, it barely recognizes a video to download, and it doesnt work properly, the older version was really good, it was a terrible mistake to update the mozilla browser, because the older ant downloader version doesnt work good on the new update version of mozilla

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope for your understanding.- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 14163917, 7 years agoIt does technically work but the interface is an unintuitive nightmare. I didn't even realize the addon was doing anything at all until I finally scrolled all the way to the bottom of the ridiculously long list of videos it generates (I use a lot of tabs) and found out that, yes, it was actually doing what it was supposed to do. Such crucial information should be displayed at the top of the tab, not the bottom.
I'm sure the development of the new version of this addon is still in the early stages(?) but the transition has been obviously been rough, to say the least. I really do miss the old pre-Quantum version.Developer response

I have used ANT products before and it went well. It took a few moments to figure it out though. Go to the video and select the resolution you want. Then click on the download arrow in the browser. Then find the current video at the top of the list in the downloader window. it will give details and click on "download" at the bottom of the details. It will show the download progress at the bottom of the page. When it is completed it will appear in the ANT folder in your Downloads file folder. Done. Thank you Ant. ;-)

- Rated 2 out of 5by LacAbEla, 7 years agoSince they started to use that installer downloads are incredibly slow (~60 KB/s). Downloading videos at that speed takes way too much time.

Hopefully it will be again--soon.
Currently the thousands of videos that I have downloaded over the years are mostly unavailable. If any future upgrade of this extension doesn't make those old files available again I feel I may as well start from scratch with another extension. I hope it doesn't come to that, though.
The mechanics of one downloader or another aren't really all that important to me--the real value is in those old videos. If they are "gone" I probably will be too.Developer response
posted 7 years agoWe continue to work on migration AVD to a new platform and returning the habitual appearance as much as it possible in new Firefox.
You still can install old AVD version in Firefox 56 and below from Mozilla website here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/versions/
