- Rated 5 out of 5by GUIGUI, 2 years agoHello, thanks a lot for this, but one question: what about animated webp image (like this one for example: https://i0.wp.com/drunkenanimeblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Outburst-heder-gif-1.webp?fit=540%2C304&ssl=1 ) can future update on your addon allow to save them as webm?
Also, when the "Yes" option is selected in the "Save Dialog / Autosave Options" setting, it would be nice if the save dialog box remembered the file path for the next use.
Thanks.Developer response
posted 2 years agoThank you for your feedback. For animated webP, the "IE11" button works the best for saving in an animated GIF format, assuming the server offers one, but isn't perfect. For WebM, I could try linking to an online conversion service but I'm not aware of one.
The Save As dialog takes advantage of Firefox's built-in behavior to remember your last used folder per website. I actually don't know whether I can override that in the add-on; I'll need to look into it. - Rated 5 out of 5by Gordon, 2 years agoExcellent add-on, thanks! I set the option to show the Save As dialogue each time and to save "Directly in my downloads folder", and for me it seems to remember the last save location so I don't have to go hunting for it each time. YMMV.
I haven't gotten the IE11 button to work yet, I still keep getting a .avif. But I may be misunderstanding something about that. Regardless, this thing is still great. Highly recommend if you are annoyed with getting .avif or .webp files when saving images. - Rated 5 out of 5by PPlank, 3 years agoThis is a great little plugin that I use almost every day for downloading memes in jpg format. The only thing I'd like it to also be able to do is to save to a different location other than the default so I have to navigate to the network folder I like to save images to, but I get if this isn't possible due to addon limitations and I guess I'll just live with it. Maybe I'll look for a bit of software that monitors that location and auto-moves anything that appears there. :-)

posted 3 years agoHi, do the save options help? You can have Firefox prompt you each time if you need to use a range of folders. As you can see I was planning to let you pick any folder under Downloads (add-ons can't auto-save outside of your default "Save files to:" folder) but haven't finished that yet. https://addons.mozilla.org/user-media/previews/full/265/265268.png - Rated 5 out of 5by shrl, 3 years ago

posted 3 years agoSorry to hear about that. This add-on doesn't have a feature to delete saved images, but the images are handled as downloads and Firefox itself has a feature to delete downloaded files. The way that works is to right-click an item on the download history list and click Delete -- if multiple downloads are selected, all of the files for the selected items will be deleted. If the files weren't deleted through that feature, perhaps they are in the Windows Recycle Bin (if you run windows) or your system's equivalent. If not, you could try "unerase" software like https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva - Rated 1 out of 5by Demez, 3 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by rotie, 3 years agoCongratulations, I managed to save 1 (sic!) picture. When clicking on png/jpg/ button options nothing happens.

posted 3 years agoHi rotie, could you start a thread on https://github.com/jscher2000/Save-webP-as-extension/issues/ and give an example of a page where it doesn't work, or email me at jscher2000@outlook.com
**Update** I noticed this can happen in a framed page. Try using either right-click > Open Image in New Tab (use the stand-alone image viewer), or right-click > This Frame > Open Frame in New Tab to work around this issue for now. Hopefully I can figure out the issue. - Rated 5 out of 5by The Disintegrator, 3 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by growling-old-lady, 3 years agoI love this extension. A lot. Thank you so much for creating it. I'm not just using it for the highly annoying webp, but for so many other formats and resolution/size. (Your other extensions are so useful! Thank you!)

- Rated 5 out of 5by Axolotl, 3 years agoA lifesaver. As someone who has to save multiple images often in bulk for referencing webp is a nightmare to deal with, this fixes that issue easily.
I just wish there was an option to bring up the toolbar on click of the image or similar, as it's ability to save without further dialogue saves heaps of time, it would make the addon great for multiple uses. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16756996, 3 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Katryne, 3 years agoMerveilleux, parfait. Et pas seulement pour les webp : la barre de choix du format de conversion s'affiche chaque fois que l'on affiche une image toute seule dans un nouvel onglet.
Un grand merci. - Rated 5 out of 5by Gazer, 3 years ago
