Didn't realize this add-on was actually ineffective in finding good coupon codes and is actively malicious to anyone who signs up with their affiliate program by stealing the last-click referrals if you use it, pocketing whatever referral that would have gotten paid out to affiliates. Don't download, as these practices are slimy and an easy example of untrustworthy companies.

Honey got caught stealing from creators, ripping you off by feeding you bad coupon codes, and lying to your face about it while pocketing money from the very corporations we were trying to save money from. Get the heck out of here

This addon claims to find the best coupons for you, but the real purpose is really sinister and possibly illegal. I strongly encourage you to google or watch some videos on the Honey scam.

Honey is not an add-on looking out for your best interest. They will withhold better coupons in exchange for ones that return a bigger profit for PayPal themselves.

Honey does not do what they claim. The coupons are curated in agreement with the websites. It will not apply discounts that exist with larger discounts if the store has blacklisted them via Honey.

It doesn't find you the best coupons, it inserts their own affiliate links even over others you may be trying to use. This is hot garbage, don't use it.

I would have never installed it if I knew they intentionally don't always offer the best coupon codes (companies can choose which coupons Honey displays if they become a Honey affiliate) or that they were poaching affiliate links even if they didn't even find a working coupon code! That's right, just clicking on Honey's "okay" button if it says it didn't find any coupon codes will credit Honey for the sale rather than the person who actually directed you to it and whose link you may have intentionally clicked. I personally have sought out affiliate links in the past by creators whose work I like but can't afford to financially support in other ways. I am so sad to learn that having Honey installed for the past few years means that if I clicked on it -- and I probably did -- the creators NEVER saw any of that money, despite being the ones to actually sell me on the product and rightfully deserving a commission.

I don't know if it's fair to call this a scam legally, but I certainly feel like I was deceived and that I would not have downloaded the extension if I knew the true nature. I also very rarely got working coupon codes and was starting to be a dissatisfied customer even before I found out about how it actually works. (Seems like the coupon codes getting worse coincided with the PayPal acquisition...go figure.) I should have known better than to install something free claiming to save me money.
