- Rated 4 out of 5by Veltaine, 7 years agoThis is a fantastic option for those that have amassed a huge amount of bookmarks over the years and just want a simple script to help clear up the broken links or verify what addresses need to be updated. However it doesn't allow me to reorganize where my bookmarks are, which I assumed would be an option with the name of the program. I'll be using this again though as it's still a very good option!
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12312529, 7 years agoI appreciate the effort to develop the extension but to be honest the interface is ugly and impractical. Regarding results I have found that out of some 3000 links the extension did find some 10% as broken. Testing the "broken" links I have found that most of them rendered the pages just fine.

posted 7 years agoSorry, it's okay if you don't like the interface but it's not okay to say "it's ugly", there are enogh other users liking the interface. Also I can't confirm that only 10 percent of the found broken bookmarks are really bookmarks. And most important: There is NO issue reported by you. You give a bad review without contacting the developer to give him the possibility to react. That's really not okay. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13406365, 7 years ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13368957, 7 years agoIts pretty useful, but my main issue is that there is no option to remove bookmark duplicates, en masse, leaving behind the first bookmark found, a la bookmark deduplicator. Its a real pain to be hunting down hundreds of possible duplicates one by one. If that feature could be implemented then you found yourself a permanent user!

- Rated 4 out of 5by dfwdraco76, 7 years agoSeems to work well, but I have some feedback:
1) Details about the error or warning would be great to include in the results. As it is I'm having to right-click each URL and open in a new tab to see what's going on.
2) Would it be possible to add an option users could enable if they so choose to update favicons at the same time?Developer response
posted 2 years agoThank you for your review and feedback!
1) Yeah, that would be nice, but it's not always that easy as the responses are often wrong from the technical perspective.
2) This would be nice as well but it's not easy to solve in a privacy respecting way. It would be great if Mozilla would offer some kind of favicon API. - Rated 3 out of 5by jarome, 8 years agoI have 72000+ bookmarks. Your check always dies before the end. Alas.

posted 2 years agoCan you please test again in a current version and re-review? Thanks! - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 11571316, 8 years ago1. Well looking for duplicates and problem names + 1 stars. 2. There is no button to stop checking the bookmarks. If you close the tab, then the process continues and helps to unload the browser through the task manager - minus the star. 3. Does not display what errors occurred when connecting, namely 404, 505, etc. - minus the star. 4. There are no settings for the number of requests to the site when checking - minus one star.

posted 2 years agoWhy do you need a setting fo the number of requests? It does not really makes sense for the way how this add-on works.
Can you please file feature requests on GitHub? Thanks! - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13198653, 8 years agoHi,
after a bad XMark sync all my bookmarks were doubled so I wanted to use this addon to remove the 3000 duplicated bookmarks. It also detects them and displays them but I have to click to delete for every single bookmark.
Please, add a button to delete all duplicates at once!Developer response
posted 8 years agoThank you for your feedback. Will be added in a future update, late 2017 or start of 2018. - Rated 4 out of 5by Chip, 8 years agoWorks for me on the current FF. One question - the 3 little green dots are always active? It makes me wonder if the app is never finished processing if they never stop moving.

posted 2 years agoCan you please test if you still have this issue in a current version? Thank you! - Rated 4 out of 5by Hoggy, 8 years agoAs another reviewer was saying, things may work better if the dup check is done first.
If you check broken links first, it may hang.Developer response
posted 2 years agoThere is no relation between these two features so I guess it's some kind of placebo. - Rated 4 out of 5by Phylis, 8 years agoVery intuitive. But took me a bit to get use to the large split screen. Only problem was I had to disable it to get back to normal window. Perhaps because I'm using an older version of FF (v. 52.0.1 (64 bit) on Win 10.

posted 8 years agoThank you for your feedback. But you really should not use old Firefox version with security problems… By the way, the next version of Bookmarks Organizer will require Firefox 57 or higher. - Rated 4 out of 5by andrew, 8 years agoFor some reason, it always recognizes https://transfer.sh/ as error.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12374321, 8 years agoThe guy who posted the previous review was referring to the forever looping logo animation overlay that prevents you to even delete the 1 duplicate it finds (though you can do it manually via library)
https://github.com/cadeyrn/bookmarks-organizer/issues/48 since Aug 14
Or another one with a screenshot https://github.com/cadeyrn/bookmarks-organizer/issues/46 since Aug 7
The broken search sometimes does work sometimes won't finish , from what i understand there is a needed api that is not yet available (atleast on the stable ffx release)
This extension has potential when the 57 hits , looking foward to test it (no new update rip rating)Developer response
posted 2 years agoThis issue is fixed since a long time. Can you please test again and re-review? - Rated 2 out of 5by Proft, 8 years agoWhat's the point of finding duplicates if you can't go through the list and choose which ones to delete?
I've got 8200+ bookmarks and the "broken" bookmark detector has been running for over 10 minutes with absolutely no progress indication.
There are other, more feature-rich bookmark managers out there...uninstalling this add-on.Developer response
posted 8 years agoSorry, but I would never give bad reviews without contacting the developer about possible problems. I have more than 5,000 bookmarks and the add-on works for me.
And you can see the features of the add-on in the description and in the screenshots here on addons.mozilla.org. So I can't see where there should be a potential for surprises regarding features. If you have a feature request, please open a ticket on GitHub.
So it does NOT MAKE SENSE AT ALL to say "There are other, more feature-rich bookmark managers out there" because it does not make sense to install add-ons if you already know that the add-on is not what you want.
Some people… - Rated 4 out of 5by CanIregisterThisTime, 8 years agoI had written a review that perhaps wasn't fair and I apologize to the developer. I deleted the old one. This is a new review.
Regarding the scan locking up, I think if you have a lot of duplicate bookmarks, what you need to do is start by dealing with those before you have it look for dead links. Once I did that, it went much more quickly when looking for the dead links and it did complete the scan. This extension also worked to fix redirects and stuff. You have to look over each one because it did find some false positives, which is natural and I think it even said to be careful in the dialogue itself. Can't remember for sure, but just don't blindly click your way through this stuff.
I don't know how I had so many duplicates, but it would have been nice to have had a way to select them in bulk. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13245296, 8 years agoEndlich mal eine SW die tut was sie verspricht. Einfach und gut; was kann ich mehr sagen!
Moechte das Addon auch als .xpi file downloaden, aber wie???
Gerne einen Hinweis.

Zum Download: Rechtsklick auf den grünen Download-Button und Ziel speichern unter. ;) - Rated 1 out of 5by oc48, 8 years agoAfter installing the add-on, I restarted FF 52.3.0 (running Mac OS X 10.11.6). Then I chose "broken bookmarks" and the add-on found 140.063 (yes 140 thousands!) bookmarks. Then I clicked on "check bookmark" and after 5 minutes I saw 211 checked but after 20 minutes the number of items checked was still 211. No numbers in warmings and errors fields. The add on is still working because I see in the middle of the window 3 circles moving ... and I cannot have any feedback nor choose any other option (like "duplicates", for instance). I'm (sadly) going to remove the add on ...unless I can have any suggestion to have the add on working ... I can't ever rate this add on...maybe too much bookmarks?

posted 8 years agoSorry that you have problems. But there is an issue tracker where you can report bugs. AMO reviews are NOT for bug reports…
And yes, no one can expect that Firefox can handle the opening of 140.000 websites at the same time… - Rated 5 out of 5by EffPeh, 8 years agoHm. Also grundsätzlich scheint das Add-On seinen Job zu erledigen, bleibt aber auch bei mir bei der Überprüfung des letzten Lesezeichens hängen. Keine Ahnung, warum.
- Rated 1 out of 5by SoundHound, 8 years ago- Restarted FF after installing.
- Opened the Firefox extension.
- Selected Broken Bookmarks.
- Selected Check Bookmarks...
- It scanned 4979 bookmarks.
- It identified 1453 warnings.
- It also identified 381 errors.
THEN NOTHING - (waited for 12 minutes)
The 'dot' progress indicator kept moving.
Selected Duplicates > Check Bookmarks.
Nothing !
Selected Missing Bookmark Names > Check Bookmarks.
Nothing !Developer response
posted 8 years agoIt works for me with more than 5000 bookmarks. I can't find your bug report on GitHub. I never give one star reviews without reaching out to the developer in case of problems… - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13232843, 8 years agoSehr gut und logisch aufgebaut, schlicht und übersichtlich im Design, funktioniert einwandfrei.
Der derzeit beste Bookmark-Checker. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13227442, 8 years agoHallo,
Überprüft = 1063
Warnungen = 433
Fehler = 147
