posted 5 months agoWe are working to find a way around this issue. Twitch has a large, well-funded team focused on finding ways around our blocks. At the same time, we are working against similar teams at YouTube and Facebook, not to mention the many other sites where we are successfully blocking ads. We appreciate your patience while we work on this! — Kat C., AdBlock SupportDeveloper response

posted 6 months agoIt is difficult for any ad blocker to block ads on Twitch. Since Twitch ads are inserted directly into the video stream, ad blockers must “race” to block ads on Twitch streams before the site can download them. This means that while AdBlock does block Twitch ads, we may not be able to catch every single ad before you see it. If you see occasional unblocked ads on Twitch while using AdBlock, a simple page refresh should eliminate them. — Kat C., AdBlock SupportDeveloper response
posted 6 months agoIf you YouTube ads, please try disabling AdBlock for a day or so. When you re-enable AdBlock, you should no longer experience ads. — Kat C., AdBlock Support- Rated 1 out of 5by skyhook, 7 months agoSo so so frustrating that AdBlock comes with spam these days. Every day, Adblock opens a New Tab requesting that I pay to upgrade to "premium Adblock"...whatever that nonsense is. This behavior only began roughly 1-2 years ago, when Adblock started going downhill. The straw that broke the camel's back tho was that Adblock recently decided to hide the "Block something on this page" button—the only feature that I ever really valued. So, reader, do yourself a favor: skip Adblock & just stick with **uBlock Origin**... it's free, zero spam, & vastly better performance.

posted 7 months agoThe update page which provides the option to upgrade to Premium should only show once per browser/device when we release an update to the extension. If you are seeing it every day, please email us at support@getadblock.com The block element feature can be found on the new menu by clicking the AdBlock icon > More (three dots). — Kat C., AdBlock Support - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18415461, 7 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by SubMarinerr, 8 months agoFirst thing that happens is that you are presented with a page that asks you for money. Where in this FF posting for this add on say that you must pay for it? Not interested, thanks. Bye

posted 7 months agoAdBlock is available to use for free. You can dismiss the payment page by clicking the "x" on the browser tab. — Kat C., AdBlock Support - Rated 1 out of 5by ElPoonPoon, 8 months agoThe ad blocker has intrusive pop-ups just like the things it's designed to protect you from now.
They disguise them as "update" notifications but they are pushing updates every week and if you have the extension on multiple devices it will take over whatever tab you have open and show you that it's updated for the 5th time this month on every single device and conveniently also have an option to donate money.
The annoyance quickly builds up. After being interrupted and having to close a good 20-30 pop ups across all my devices a month, I'm done.Developer response
posted 7 months agoWhen we update the extension, we display the payment page to inform you about any new Premium features and offer you the option to upgrade. We have been releasing frequent updates, and I apologize for the disruption this has caused you. posted 7 months agoPlease try allowing ads on YouTube for a day or so. Then, when AdBlock is enabled again, YouTube's warning should no longer show. If that doesn't do the trick, you can reach out to us at support@getadblock.com — Kat C., AdBlock Support- Rated 1 out of 5by Faust, 8 months agoIt’s quite ironic that an ad blocker designed to eliminate unwanted commercial spam ends up opening its own unwanted commercial spam. I understand the need to monetize, but opening a new tab to push a subscription offer feels intrusive. Most people are already overwhelmed with numerous subscriptions and don’t want to add another. This approach undermines the very purpose of using an ad blocker in the first place.
Rethink your marketing efforts, AdBlock. Do better.Developer response
posted 7 months agoFor non-Premium users, our payment page displays when we update the extension to keep you informed on changes we've made and as a reminder to consider upgrading to Premium. There is no obligation to upgrade, and you can dismiss the page by clicking the "x" on the browser tab. I appreciate your feedback about your experience with the update page and have made a note for our team. If you have additional feedback or questions, you can reach us at support@getadblock.com — Kat C., AdBlock Support - Rated 1 out of 5by familycanidae, 8 months agoUse Ublock Origin. Adblock will open up a spam tab every single day asking you to pay money for their "Premium" service. I was using this app because I DIDN'T WANT popups, lmao.
They're also going to reply to this review stating that the basic app is available for free and that the pop-up tab can simply be closed. Hey Adblock, I have a better solution--how about you stop asking for handouts and stop spamming us with popups? :D "If you don't like the tab you can just close it" is the same as saying "Hey, we are going to try to punch you in the face every day, if you don't like that you can just try to dodge the punch."Developer response
posted 7 months agoIt's not expected to see the update page every day. It should only display when we release an update to the extension. Feel welcome to email us at support@getadblock.com and we can help troubleshoot. — Kat C., AdBlock Support Developer response

Absolute bullshit!
Does not work to block Twitch ads. The Adblock home page claims it is the ONLY Firefox extension that blocks Twitch ads. Failure.Developer response
